Boy Charged With Attempted Murder In Redwood City Shooting

REDWOOD CITY, CA — A 16-year-old boy was charged with attempted murder in Redwood City in connection with a shooting incident on Thursday afternoon.

The incident occurred on the 1500 block of Gordon Street, according to the Redwood City Police Department. The victim, who knew the boy, told police that he was checking on his parked car when the boy approached him at a “high rate of speed” in his vehicle and fired at least five shots, according to police. The victim was not struck.

The boy was arrested near his residence and was found to have 9mm ammunition and a 9mm magazine in his possession, according to police. Police said they have not been able to locate the weapon that was used in the attack.

The boy was booked into the Hillcrest Youth Services Center.
