California ISO Declares Stage 2 Emergency
Rolling blackouts are expected amid record heat in parts of the state.
CALIFORNIA — The California Independent System Operator has declared a Stage 2 Emergency with rotating power outages expected.
The emergency declaration comes as record heat slammed parts of California. More than 10,000 people lost power in Los Angeles County, where temperatures reached 118 degrees Saturday.
Utility companies urged customers to conserve energy to reduce strain on the power grid.

SoCal Edison tweeted,"Help conserve energy by adjusting air conditioners to 78 degrees or higher, avoid using large appliances and turn off all unneeded lights.”
