Caltrain Strikes Person Trespassing On Tracks At Redwood City
Tracks are now open in both directions following the incident involving the man who was removed from the scene and hospitalized.

REDWOOD CITY, CA -- The southbound Caltrain No. 258 struck a person trespassing on the tracks at 4:18 p.m in Redwood City this evening, according to Caltrain. Commuters may expect delays and were advised to take an alternative route.
However, both southbound and northbound tracks were reopened, with train travel resuming within about an hour from the critical incident, Caltrain Public Affairs Officer Dan Lieberman told Patch.
"We typically close down the trains in both directions when something like this happens," he said.

Initial reports claimed the man died.
About 500 passengers onboard the train, and no one on the train was on board.
