Coroner Releases Identity of Man Fatally Struck By Train
A Redwood City man was fatally struck by a Caltrain in Atherton, California on Friday.
The San Mateo County Coroner’s office released the name of a man who was fatally struck by a Caltrain in Atherton, California on Friday.
Clifford Emmett Planchon, 88, was killed by a northbound train at about 7:15 a.m. on July 5, 2013.
Caltrains do not stop at the Atherton station on weekdays, according to caltrain.com. Planchon was from Redwood City, California.
It is unclear why he was on the tracks that day. The Atherton train station is located at 1 Dinkelspeil Station Lane.
