DUI Checkpoint Planned In Redwood City Area This Weekend

The exact location of the checkpoint was not immediately announced.

REDWOOD CITY, CA -- Officials announced Wednesday that a sobriety checkpoint will be held Friday to catch impaired drivers on the road. The checkpoint, which is conducted by the Redwood City Police Department and the California Highway Patrol, will take place from 7 p.m. Friday to 1 a.m. Saturday.

The location of the checkpoint was not immediately announced.

The goal of the checkpoint is to reduce the number of injury and fatal collisions that are caused by impaired drivers, officials said.

Drivers are urged to designate a driver when they plan to drink.
