Extra DUI Patrols Through New Year's Day In San Mateo County
The "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign will keep extra deputies on the lookout for impaired drivers through the holiday season.

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office is encouraging holiday revelers to celebrate responsibly and avoid getting behind the wheel while under the influence of alcohol or other substances.
As part of the "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign, more deputies will patrol the region through New Year's Day to look out for impaired drivers.
"The holiday season can be dangerous for people on the roads," the sheriff's office said. "In December 2022 alone, 1,062 people were killed in the U.S. in alcohol-impaired-driving crashes."
