Honey For Sale From Bees At Redwood City Public Library
Honey bees have lived on the roof of Redwood City's downtown library since 2018.
REDWOOD CITY, CA — The Redwood City Public Library is selling honey, fresh from its own bees.
A six-ounce jar costs $10, and proceeds benefit Redwood City libraries.
The bees make hundreds of pounds of honey each year, and the first batch of honey is available now.

Honey bees have lived on the roof of Redwood City’s downtown library since 2018, with up to 150,000 bees calling the library home during the summer months. They are cared for by a caretaker, Kendal Sager.
In 2020, the bees produced 241 pounds of honey.
