Bay Area Man Commits Series Of Sexual Batteries, Officers Seek Additional Victims: Police
A 33-year-old man was identified who is suspected in three other similar cases since July, targeting women in public, police said.
REDWOOD CITY, CA — Police have arrested a 33-year-old man Thursday in Redwood City who is accused of committing a series of sexual batteries, targeting women in public.
At around 11:49 a.m. on Thursday, Redwood City Police Department officers said they arrested Luis Martinez Maldonado, 33, in connection with a sexual battery that happened near Broadway and Jefferson Avenue.
The victim told police that she was standing on the street corner when Maldonado drove by, reached out of the car and grabbed the victim inappropriately before riding away, police said.

Officers said they reviewed video surveillance of the suspect and he was then spotted on the 1000 block of Middlefield Road, where he was placed under arrest.
Investigators said they have also identified Maldonado as a suspect in three similar sexual batteries in Redwood City first starting in July 2025. In each case, women were targeted while in public, police said.

Maldonado was booked into the San Mateo County Maguire Correctional Facility for sexual battery, police said.
Officers said they believe there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward.
