Man Found Dead In Submerged Vehicle On Peninsula

LA HONDA, CA -- A motorist was killed when his vehicle careened off the road and overturned into Alpine Creek at the intersection of Alpine and Heritage roads on Sunday morning, the California Highway Patrol reported.

He was found dead with his submerged vehicle south of La Honda in the unincorporated area of San Mateo County.

There were no witnesses, but a parks worker placed the 8 a.m. call to CHP.

"We don't know why he went off the road," CHP spokesman Art Montiel told Patch.
