Man Who Randomly Shot At People Arrested: Police

The shootings happened back on March 6 in Redwood City.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — A Redwood City man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly shooting at a vehicle with two people in it last month, according to police.

At around 11:30 p.m. on March 6, Redwood City officers were alerted to a reported shooting in the area of Lincoln Avenue and El Camino Real. Upon arrival, they saw a vehicle occupied by two people who said they had encountered an individual who, for unknown reasons, pulled out a handgun and fired at them.

According to police, the victims' vehicle was struck three times, including two rounds near the driver's compartment. Neither occupant was hit.

Based on their investigation, detectives identified the shooter to be Alan ViverosLara, 21. On Wednesday, they located and arrested him and a search warrant was served at his residence. Police alleged they found the handgun used in the shooting which was a Glock 27 .40 caliber.

ViverosLara was booked into the San Mateo County Jail for the alleged shooting and other suspected crimes.
