'Mayor For A Day' Redwood City Contest Winners Honored
The two essay winners touched on community safety and affordable housing in Redwood City.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — Two winners of Redwood City’s “Mayor for a Day” contest were honored at last week’s council meeting.
The winners were Cassandra Amaya, a third grader at Adelante Selby Immersion School, and Katherine Elizabeth Morales, an eighth grader at North Star Academy. Contestants had to submit an essay of no more than 500 words on what a typical day would be like if they were the mayor of Redwood City.
Cassandra’s essay focused on ensuring safety and community feedback, while Katherine wrote about the affordable housing criss and high cost of living.
