EAST PALO ALTO, CA — The family of a missing East Palo Alto woman is asking for the public’s help finding her, and the police department is trying to follow up on leads that will help them locate Salamasina, aka Lolita, L. Alo.

The 20-year-old woman who East Palo Alto police said frequents the local shelters with her mother has been missing since June 30.

She was supposedly spotted at Sequoia Station in Redwood City earlier this month. She was last seen wearing a white T-shirt with gold writing, brown leggings and black tennis shoes.

The family told Patch via email Tuesday a police report has been filed for the "at risk" youth, who has allegedly been diagnosed with attention deficit disorder.

East Palo Alto Police Cmdr. Michael Stasko said his department is using their resources to get the word out in nine San Francisco Bay Area counties, but the task has been difficult given sketchy information provided by the family including a questionable date of birth.

Stasko, who is a veteran at finding missing persons having whittled down his department's list by two thirds in a month and a half, told Patch he's determined the young woman runs away, but her mother denies it, according to police.

Several attempts by Patch to reach the family have been unanswered.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call the East Palo Alto Police Department at 650-853-3160, Redwood City's at 650-780-7100, 911 or her family at 650-709-6724.
