The reorganization ceremony, held in packed board chambers, drew numerous leaders from city councils across the county, along with county officials, including District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe and newly appointed Sheriff Ken Binder.
Following the 2023 rotation procedure—which mandates annual board elections for president and vice president by supervisorial district instead of seniority—Corzo, the 2025 vice president, was elected president after Supervisor David Canepa. Mueller, representing District 3, was next in line for vice president.

The board president's role is mostly ceremonial, involving leading meetings, setting agendas, maintaining order, timing public comments, and representing the board publicly.
"I can confidently say now that I have more than earned my keep in this role," Corzo said. "I have put my heart and my mind into this role. I've worked tirelessly and risen to meet very difficult challenges, some that I could have never foreseen. I am proud of myself."
Mueller was not required to take an oath per county procedure and made no remarks on his new role.
