Officer-Involved Shooting Reported In Peninsula

REDWOOD CITY, CA -- A man was killed Saturday afternoon in an officer-involved shooting outside of a bank in Redwood City. Officers responded to Wells Fargo Bank on Broadway and found a man holding a handgun, pacing in front of the ATM machine.

Officers attempted to persuade the man to surrender peacefully but shot when he raised his gun, police said.

Paramedics later pronounced the man dead despite life-saving efforts, police said.

The incident is currently being investigated.
