Patrick Joseph Andorfer, 55 of Half Moon Bay, was convicted in connection with a 2015 case, the San Mateo County DA's Office said.

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — A Peninsula man convicted earlier this year for sexting an underage girl was sentenced to three years in state prison in connection with the 2015 case, the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office said.

Patrick Joseph Andorfer, 55 of Half Moon Bay, was convicted in March for soliciting a minor for lewd purposes and contacting a minor with the intent to commit a lewd act, the DA’s Office said.

He was released after being credited with 1,124 days of time served in connection with the case but will be required to register as a sex offender, the DA’s Office said.

Andorfer was arrested in late 2015 after investigators lured him to the 600 block of Correas Street by exchanging text messages posing as the victim, the DA’s Office said.

Andorfer sent hundreds of unsolicited social media messages to the girl starting in August 2015 that gradually became lewd in nature, culminating with him soliciting the girl for sexual acts, the DA’s Office said.

His arrest culminated a four-month probe that began when the girl's father contacted the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office after he found inappropriate Facebook and text messages from Andorfer, the DA’s Office said.

Andorfer sent over 500 text messages to the victim, which became increasingly sexual in content, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
