Police Investigating 'Suspicious' Death In Redwood City

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — Redwood City police are investigating the death of 44-year-old man Saturday night as "suspicious."

Police officers responded to the 600 block of Fox Court East at about 11:40 p.m. after receiving a call reporting a man who was unconscious.

Emergency medical aid from police, as well as from Redwood City firefighters and paramedics who also responded shortly after, was unsuccessful. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are treating the death as suspicious because of the man's age, and because the cause of death was not immediately apparent. The San Mateo County Coroner's Office will investigate the cause.

There was not believed to be any threat to the public, police said in a press release.
