Redwood City Approves 2021 Equity Plan
The plan seeks to clarify, demonstrate and institutionalize Redwood City's commitment to equity.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — The Redwood City council approved an equity plan during its meeting Monday.
The 2021 Redwood City Equity Plan includes proposals to clarify the city’s commitment to equity, demonstrate active focus on equity and institutionalize equity as a priority through policy, according to a staff report.
The proposals applied information from outreach for projects with similar goals and seeks to clarify, demonstrate and institutionalize Redwood City’s commitment to equity, staff wrote.

“I’m really excited about this,” Mayor Diane Howard said during the meeting. “It’s going to advance us in so many ways. I’m grateful for the community with their patience in allowing us to work through this process.”
