Redwood City Cops Make Arrest In Decades-Old Sexual Assault Cases

The cases dated back to the late 1980s and early 1990s, according to police.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — The Redwood City Police Department made an arrest Wednesday in decades-old sexual assault cases.

Thomas Garcia, 63, was arrested on an outstanding $6 million warrant on suspicion of sexually assaulting two juvenile victims during the late 1980s and early 1990s, according to police. The victims were known to Garcia, according to police.

Officers conducted surveillance at Garcia’s residence and arrested him at a traffic stop, police said.

Garcia was booked into the San Mateo County Jail. Police did not release additional information about the cases or the victims.
