REDWOOD CITY, CA — Redwood City is celebrating the opening of the Highway 101 pedestrian undercrossing connecting the bike path along Bair Island Road with the bike lanes on Main Street next Wednesday at a grand opening.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony will commemorate the new undercrossing beneath the freeway adjacent to the Courtyard Marriott, creating 700 new feet of pathway. It will provide a 14-foot wide path that includes landscaping improvements, site lighting, two retaining walls and a scenic overlook, according to city officials.
