Redwood City PD Leads Backpack Drive

The agency is asking that donated items be brought to the Redwood City Police Department front lobby by Aug. 5.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — A local law enforcement agency and a national nonprofit are partnering to make sure all Redwood City students have the supplies they need for the start of the school year.

The Redwood City Police Department is teaming up with Generations United to gather new backpacks and school supplies for the upcoming school year.

The agency is asking that donated items be brought to the Redwood City Police Department front lobby by Aug. 5.

The RCPD is asking that the following items be donated:

  • New backpacks (in any color other than red or blue)
  • Crayons (boxes of 24)
  • Markers (boxes of 8)
  • Colored pens and pencils
  • Scissors, glue sticks and rulers
  • Highlighters
  • Pencil sharpeners and erasers
  • Wide-ruled binder paper
  • Notebooks
  • Folders, dividers and index cards
