Redwood City Sex Offender Suspected Of Soliciting Minor For Lewd Acts

Police will seek additional charges for violations related to his sex offender history.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — A Redwood City man was arrested on suspicion of soliciting a minor to commit a sexual offense, the Redwood City Police Department announced Tuesday.

Thomas Hemmenway, 63, was charged with contacting a minor with the intent to commit a sexual offense after an investigation by the Redwood City Police Department’s Street Crimes Suppression Team.

Hemmenway, a registered sex offender, was also charged with arranging to meet a minor for a lewd or lascivious act. Police will seek additional charges for violations related to his sex offender history.

Hemmenway was booked into San Mateo County Jail.
