SamTrans Free Rides Cover 'Amateur Night' For Revelers
Pick a point on SamTrans' 70 routes as safe haven from 8 p.m. New Year's Eve to 5 a.m. New Year's Day.

REDWOOD CITY, CA -- If you find a point in which the New Year's reveling is excessive, find a point on this map to get a free ride on a SamTrans bus, transit officials announced.
The service of 70 routes along the Peninsula runs from 8 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday, with "no restrictions," spokesman Dan Lieberman told Patch.
The San Mateo County Transit District buses will be operating on a Sunday schedule, while New Year's Eve riders will experience a normal schedule.

The offices handling SamTrans and Caltrain routes will be closed New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. For customer service inquiries, call 800-660-4287.
