Shooting On 9th Ave. Outside Redwood City Deemed Accident: SMC

The San Mateo Co. Sheriff's Dept. responded to an apartment complex to a person shot by accident who suffered non life-threatening injuries.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — An unidentified person was shot Friday afternoon on 9th Avenue outside Redwood City, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Department reported.

Deputies responded at 1:10 p.m. to an apartment complex in the 700 Block of 9th Avenue on a report of an adult victim who had a gunshot wound with non life-threatening injuries.

During the investigation, it became apparent that the shooting was self-inflicted and an accident
based on statements and evidence. This is an isolated incident, and there is no threat to the public.
