How much does it cost?
It varies by sport, but most sports only cost $50 dollars. In most cases, this includes an 8-week season, a team jersey, and a school T-shirt.
Some sports (like indoor soccer) are less expensive and some sports (like golf) are more expensive. But, we never want to turn a child away, so we offer scholarships or payment plans for those who qualify.
What grade levels are included in the school sports?
Most of our sports are offered to children 8 years and older and start in 4th grade.
There are a few sports that begin at a younger age. The Jr. Giants Baseball program is offered to children as young as 5 years old and the Jr. Dribblers Basketball is offered beginning in the 2nd grade.

How do I find out about the sports available at my school?
The best source of information is the league website. Each school has a sports coordinator that is responsible getting the word out about registration deadlines. To find out who the sports coordinator is at your school, please check the website under “school contacts” in the welcome section.
What if the sport my child wants to play is not at his or her school. Can I help get it started?
Yes! But, please remember we are a volunteer organization and we need parent support for the coaching and coordination of any new sport. Parents interested in volunteering can contact me at eniemeyer@redwoodcity.org or 650.780.7335 or learn more at the Coaches Corner website.
If there is a desire for a new activity and we have the budget and facilities, we will try to make it work. The more opportunities our kids have to stay active, the better!
What is the philosophy of the After School Sports program?
We provide programs that encourage good sportsmanship, teamwork, a positive attitude and mutual respect to build a strong community within Redwood City. We promote life skills development by providing a safe place for youth to engage in physical activity that develops their talents and self-esteem.
