Transient Arrested, Accused On Peninsula Of Gun, Drug Charges

The man was taken into custody from the Woodside Park n Ride parking lot when San Mateo County Sheriff's deputies conducted a check.

WOODSIDE, CA -- As a result of a passing check that appeared to place a target on his back, a 29-year-old transient who frequents San Jose was arrested at the Woodside Park n Ride on suspicion of a number of drug and gun offenses, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies also found two warrants out of Santa Clara County on Fernando Rodriquez, who faces charges of possession of a concealed firearm by a convicted felon with a prior weapons charge, along with an accusation of being under the influence of drugs and possession of a controlled substance.

Deputies were conducting a routine check of the Woodside parking lot at 9:29 p.m. Sunday and
noticed Rodriguez changing a tire on a vehicle that had front end damage. A records check revealed that Rodriguez had two warrants for his arrest out of the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office.

The man who frequents San Jose also had a gun concealed in his waistband, methamphetamine in his pocket and showed signs of being under the influence of drugs, sheriff's deputies claimed. He was booked into San Mateo County Jail.
