Woman Killed By Man In Redwood City Stabbing: Police
Police said the suspect called 911 and told dispatchers he had just stabbed someone at their shared home.
REDWOOD CITY, CA — A Redwood City man is accused of fatally stabbing a woman in front of multiple witnesses Sunday night in what investigators believe was an act of domestic violence.
According to police, officers rushed to the scene of a reported assault at a home on 7th Avenue around 10:45 p.m. Police said the suspect called 911 and told dispatchers he had just stabbed a person at their shared home.
Police arrived to find the man standing outside the home and took him into custody without incident.

Investigators said officers entered the home and found an unresponsive woman with multiple multiple stab wounds. Medics from the Redwood City Fire Department and AMR provided aid but pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Police called in help from Menlo Park and San Mateo County to manage "a large number of witnesses" inside the home, officials said. According to police, the weapon used in the killing was recovered from the home.

In a news release Monday, investigators identified the suspect as Juan Antonio Garcia, 57, of Redwood City. He was booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility on suspicion of homicide and felony weapons charges.
The victim's identity and cause of death will be confirmed by the San Mateo County Coroner's Office.
