2 Dead, 2 Hospitalized In Highway 116 Head-On Collision
The weekend crash involved a Mistsubish 3000GT and a Toyota 4-Runner, the California Highway Patrol said.
SONOMA COUNTY, CA β A man and a woman were killed in a crash early Saturday morning on state Highway 116 in Sebastopol, the California Highway Patrol said.
The collision between a Mitsubishi 3000GT and a Toyota 4-Runner happened at 12:11 a.m. near Sonoma Avenue, CHP Officer David deRutte said. Santa Rosa CHP officers and firefighter/paramedics responded and found the occupants of both cars suffering major injuries, deRutte said.
The CHP's preliminary investigation indicated the 3000GT was traveling eastbound on Highway 116 when the car drifted to the left and went into the opposite lane of traffic, directly in front of the 4-Runner, causing the crash.
