2 Displaced, 1 Cat Dies In Santa Rosa Home Fire
A residential fire displaced two occupants of a one-story, single-family home and took the life of their cat on Friday afternoon.
SANTA ROSA, CA — A residential fire displaced two occupants of a one-story, single-family home and took the life of their cat on Friday afternoon, Santa Rosa firefighters said.
The fire at 371 Wren Drive was reported at 1:47 p.m. The first engine arrived in under five minutes. Two more engines were involved bringing the total number of firefighters to 16.
One person who was home and able to escape unharmed alerted firefighters a cat may have been in the structure. Firefighters searched for and located the cat but weren't able to revive it.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage was estimated at $250,000, fire officials said in a press release.
