2 Sonoma County Chick-fil-A Stores To Close Christmas Weekend

Here's when Chick-fil-A restaurants in the Bay Area and California will close to observe Christmas and when they will reopen.

ROHNERT PARK, CA β€” All Chick-fil-A restaurants nationwide, including those in the Golden State, will go dark for an entire weekend later this month, a rare occurrence.

Chick-fil-A locations typically close Sundays, but this year they will close on Saturday, Dec. 25 as well to observe Christmas Day.

In Sonoma County, the Chick-fil-A stores on Redwood Drive in Rohnert Park and on Mendocino Avenue in Santa Rosa and will close for the full Christmas weekend. There are 160 store locations in California, according to the chain’s website.

Locations will reopen on Dec. 27, but operating hours will vary by restaurant, the company said.

The founder of Chick-fil-A, the late Truett Cathy, was a devout Baptist. The restaurant chain gives its employees Sundays off to attend church.

"Chick-fil-A restaurants will be closed on Christmas Day so our restaurant teams can spend time with family and friends," the popular restaurant chain announced. "We will also be closed on Sunday, December 26 β€” as we are every Sunday β€” but look forward to serving you when we reopen on Monday, December 27."
