4 Lbs. Of Meth: Rohnert Park Man Busted During Alleged Drug Deal

Sonoma County sheriff's deputies have arrested a man on suspicion of possessing nearly four pounds of methamphetamine and $3,700 in cash.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA -- Sonoma County sheriff's deputies have arrested a Rohnert Park man on suspicion of possessing nearly four pounds of methamphetamine.

Luis Valenzuela-Salgado, 23, of Santa Rosa, was wanted by Santa Rosa police in connection with a 2014 drug sale investigation, according to the sheriff's office.

Sheriff's narcotics detectives contacted Valenzuela-Salgado around 9:25 p.m. on Thursday, April 6 during a possible drug deal near West Barham Avenue and Olive Street in Santa Rosa, sheriff's office spokeswoman Misti Harris said.

Detectives found more than a half-pound of methamphetamine in several packages, a scale and $3,700 cash in Valenzuela-Salgado's vehicle, Harris said.

Detectives found another vehicle associated with Valenzuela-Salgado on Holly Avenue in Rohnert Park and found another 3.25 pounds of methamphetamine, Harris said.

During a probation search of Valenzuela-Salgado's apartment on Snyder Lane in Rohnert Park detectives found a small amount of the drug and a scale, Harris said.

Valenzuela-Salgado was booked into Sonoma County Jail for possession and transportation of methamphetamine for sale and the outstanding felony no bail warrant.
