SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Travelers at the Sonoma County Airport should check for delays today after a system-wide outage at Alaska Airlines Thursday.
An IT system outage Thursday led to a temporary ground stop for the carrier, creating ripple effects at other airports including the Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport in Santa Rosa.
Throughout Thursday and into this morning, the airline canceled more than 360 flights on Alaska and Horizon airlines. Additional flight disruptions are likely as the airline shifts aircraft and crews throughout the network, according to an Alaska Airlines statement released today.

The problem began about 3:30 p.m. Thursday when a failure occurred at the carrier's primary data center. Operators lifted the ground stop at 11:30 p.m.
The airline is working to restore operations to normal as quickly and safely as possible, according to the statement. Hawaiian Airlines flights are not affected.

A flexible travel policy is in place to support guests as operations return to normal following the IT outage, according to the airline.
