Armed Robbery Suspects Following Victim Lead Police On Pursuit

An armed robbery on Sunday afternoon turned into a pursuit involving police, the suspects, and the victim.

SANTA ROSA, CA — The report of "suspicious circumstances" Sunday afternoon turned into a pursuit involving police, the suspects, and the victim.

Police responded to the report of "suspicious circumstances" involving a vehicle following another in the area of Fulton and Occidental roads in Santa Rosa at about 1:14 p.m. According to the report, at least one of the passengers in the vehicle was armed with a handgun.

When the driver refused to pull over for a traffic stop, police pursued the vehicle at "moderate speeds through city streets." The suspect vehicle finally stopped in a residential neighborhood. A man holding a handgun equipped with an extended magazine loaded with 23 rounds exited the car police said. Officers arrested him and the other passengers and took the firearm.

Police said the suspects in the vehicle had attempted to rob the person in the car they were following.

The driver and passengers were charged with attempted robbery, conspiracy, gang-related offenses, and weapons violations, according to Santa Rosa Police Department news release.
