Authorities ID Santa Rosa Man Who Died In Ramp Rollover

The fatal solo-vehicle crash happened Friday on the southbound U.S. Highway 101 connector ramp to eastbound state Highway 12.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — The Sonoma County Sheriff's office has identified the driver who died in a solo vehicle crash in Santa Rosa Friday as 76-year-old Robert Jacob Solak. Solak, a Santa Rosa resident, was driving a Ford F-250 truck on the southbound U.S. Highway 101 connector to eastbound state Highway 12 around 10:10 a.m. when the truck ran off the road on a curve and overturned, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The truck landed on its roof and Solak was unresponsive when emergency responders arrived. He was extricated and taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The CHP said it is investigating whether Solak suffered a medical emergency.
