Autonomous Security Robots Deployed At Graton Resort And Casino

Five robots are fully deployed to augment the casino's existing security team.

ROHNERT PARK, CA β€” Autonomous security robots are now cruising the parking garage and property at Graton Resort and Casino near the Northern California city of Rohnert Park, off U.S. Highway 101 in Sonoma County.

According to the company Knightscope, five of its security robots are operating at the casino and resort that has over 3,000 slot machines, a multi-story parking garage and a five-story hotel.

"Knightscope will be augmenting the casino’s existing security team and providing guests with a safer, more enjoyable experience when they visit," the company said Oct. 21 on Twitter.

One of the robots was recently seen traveling slowly through the VIP parking area on the second level of the parking structure, looking like the "Star Wars" character R2-D2. It took up a sentry post at the entrance to the garage. When approached, the robot turns and observes a person's actions.

Security guards β€” the human kind β€” were also seen zipping around on bicycles in the garage and exterior parking lots.
