Coroner Identifies Bicyclist Killed In Rohnert Park Crash

The Santa Rosa woman was rushed to a hospital where she died, police said.

ROHNERT PARK, CA — The Sonoma County Sheriff-Coroner's Office on Monday identified a 51-year-old Santa Rosa transient named Sarah King as the bicyclist who died in a collision with a truck Friday in Rohnert Park.

The fatal crash happened at 12:40 p.m. in the 5700 block of Commerce Boulevard. A blue Ram 1500 pickup truck was exiting the parking lot into the northbound lane of Commerce Boulevard and King was riding her bike south on Commerce Boulevard on the east side of the road when they collided, police said.

When the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety arrived at the scene, King was on the ground suffering from life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the truck remained at the scene.

RPDPS personnel along with AMR quickly tended to King and rendered life-saving measures. She was taken to a local hospital where she died.

Alcohol and drugs were not suspected as factors in the ongoing investigation into the fatal collision, according to police.

Police asked anyone with information regarding the crash was asked to contact the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety at 707-584-2600 and refer to Case Number 23-2689.
