Bicyclist Struck, Killed On Stony Point Road: CHP
CHP says two vehicles struck the bicyclist; one of the drivers has been located but not the other.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA β A 35-year-old Santa Rosa man was struck and killed by two vehicles while riding his bike near Rohnert Park early this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. CHP officers responded at 4:40 a.m. Thursday to a report of a pedestrian down on Stony Point Road in unincorporated Sonoma County. They arrived to find the bicyclist dead in the southbound left turn lane of Stony Point Road at Millbrae Avenue and determined the man was struck by two vehicles.
The vehicles fled, but evidence at the scene indicated a Jeep Liberty was one of the vehicles. CHP officers found Gyvaughn Smith, 22, of Santa Rosa, driving the Jeep minutes later on Stony Point Road near
Sebastopol Road, according to the CHP.
Smith was taken to the Rohnert Park CHP Office for questioning and was subsequently booked on suspicion of felony hit and run, DUI and driving without a license, CHP Spokesman Jonathan Sloat said.

The other vehicle that struck the pedestrian was a dark-colored sedan that turned east on Millbrae Avenue, according to the CHP.
Anyone with information about the collision or who believes they might have struck the pedestrian is asked to call the CHP at 707-588-1400.
