Bomb Threat Evacuates Sonoma County Registrar Of Voters, Other Government Buildings

Several employees from different county departments reported receiving an email in a foreign language talking about a bomb.

SANTA ROSA, CA — A bomb threat Wednesday afternoon prompted the evacuation of the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters and other county departments in Santa Rosa, according to police.

Santa Rosa police received a report at 12:37 p.m. from an employee at the Registrar of Voters' office at 435 Fiscal Drive about a threatening message they received that had been sent to a generic county email address, was written in a foreign language, and mentioned a threat about a bomb in a building, though did not specify a particular building or location.

Police responded and learned that several employees from different county departments received the same email, and investigators believe it may have been sent to other nearby counties as well.
