Chatty Parrot Helps Catch Home Burglary Suspect: Police
A transient was arrested in the North Bay after a parrot in the home he was allegedly burglarizing tipped off the owner.

NORTH BAY, CA -- An alleged burglar who tried to sneak into a home unnoticed was found out and arrested thanks in part to a chatty parrot, police in Sonoma County say.
At about 2:45 pm on Thursday, April 6, the Santa Rosa Police Department received a call of a possible residential burglary in progress in the 3400 block of Santiago Dr. According to police, a resident said she had been in her bathroom when she heard noises coming from the living room, including a sliding glass door being opened or closed.
Additionally, her parrot began saying βHello,β which indicated to her someone was inside the residence, police said.

Santa Rosa police officers responded to the scene and made contact with a subject later identified as 45-year-old Santa Rosa transient Raymundo Salazar Molina, who was in the backyard on the south side of the residence. No other subjects were located.
Molina claimed to have been hired by the homeowner to do some work in the backyard. He initially denied being inside the house, but authorities say he later admitted entering the residence. Police say it doesn't appear that Molina successfully removed any property from the home.
