Cotati Man Accused Of Drug Sales In Santa Rosa, Nearby Cities: SRPD
An investigation by Santa Rosa police culminated Wednesday with the arrest of Roy Eduardo Altamirano-Arenas, 29.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A Cotati man was arrested on multiple drug and gun charges Wednesday in Rohnert Park following an investigation launched in April by the Santa Rosa Police Department.
Detectives from the SRPD Narcotics Team were investigating a drug trafficking organization and identified 29-year-old Cotati resident, Roy Altamirano-Arenas, as a person involved in distributing narcotics and controlled substances in Santa Rosa and the surrounding cities in Sonoma County, SRPD Sgt. Kevin Naugle said.
At 10:43 a.m. Wednesday, narcotics detectives served a search warrant and detained Altamirano-Arenas while he was seated in his car in a parking lot in the 200 block of Golf Course Drive in Rohnert Park. A search of his person pursuant to the search warrant revealed he was armed with a loaded .38-caliber Derringer handgun that was concealed in his pants pocket, Naugle said.

It is alleged that in a search of his car, detectives found another loaded .38-caliber revolver, 800 counterfeit pills believed to be fentanyl pills, 3 ounces of suspected methamphetamine, 1 ounce of suspected cocaine, digital scales, and hundreds of small plastic baggies that matched baggies containing the suspected drugs.
"The narcotics and controlled substances appeared to be packaged for sales," Naugle said.

Altamirano-Arenas was booked into Sonoma County jail late Wednesday afternoon on suspicion of several violations including possession of a controlled substance for sale, transportation of a controlled substance for sale, possession of an illegal narcotic for sale, transportation of an illegal narcotic for sale, possession of a firearm while dealing drugs and possession of a loaded firearm in public.
He remained in custody Thursday with his bail set at $150,000 pending a court appearance set for Friday morning.
