Decomposed Body Found In Bay Area Beach Identified As Missing Rohnert Park Man: Police

The man was reported missing back in April, according to authorities.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA β€” A body found at a San Francisco Beach earlier this year has been identified as a Rohnert Park man who went missing back in April, according to authorities.

Rohnert Park resident Wen Hui Wu was reported missing back on April 16 after he didn't return home, according to the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety.

Authorities say they launched a search for him and found his vehicle the next day in the Marin Headlands, but they couldn't locate him.

On May 16, the United States Park police found a "significantly decomposed" body along the shoreline of Ocean Beach in San Francisco, according to authorities.

After using DNA analysis, state officials last week confirmed the body police found was Wu, according to police.

Police believe Wu died somewhere else, and his body was in the water for a long time before washing up ashore. It's unclear how he died.
