Driver With Knives Arrested For Felony DUI In Cotati: CHP

The CHP alleged a person driving on Highway 101 was under the influence of drugs and was illegally carrying multiple weapons.

COTATI, CA β€” A traffic stop led to a felony arrest early Wednesday in Cotati after authorities alleged a driver was speeding, driving under the influence and carrying illegal weapons.

According to the California Highway Patrol, officers made the stop a few minutes after 1:15 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Highway 101. Officers determined the driver was under the influence of drugs, and shared images of several weapons they said were recovered from the vehicle, including a machete, several small blades and two batons.

The driver was booked on suspicion of DUI, possession of drugs and felony possession of the weapons.
