Driver Shoots Self During Vehicle Fire On Highway 101 Near Cotati
The man was taken by ambulance to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with major burns along with the self-inflicted gunshot wound, the CHP said.
SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A driver whose vehicle was on fire stopped on northbound U.S. Highway 101 on the Cotati Grade and shot himself, the California Highway Patrol said Saturday.
The incident occurred about 3:24 p.m. Friday when the vehicle, fully involved in flames, stopped in the fast lane, the highway patrol said.
The driver suddenly got out of the vehicle, raised a gun and shot himself, the CHP said.
