Drugs, Cash, Assault Rifles Seized From Sonoma County Home

Police seized multiple assault rifles, as well as drugs and a large amount of cash while serving a search warrant at a Santa Rosa home.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA -- Police seized multiple high-powered assault rifles, as well as drugs and a large amount of cash while serving a search warrant at a Santa Rosa home on Wednesday

At about 1 pm on March 22, detectives and officers from the Santa Rosa Police Department served a search warrant in the 500 block of Woodchuck Court in Santa Rosa pursuant to an on-going investigation.

A search of the residence uncovered two high-powered semi-automatic AK-47 style assault rifles, ammunition, body armor, several ounces of cocaine and several thousand dollars in cash, all of which can be seen in the above photo.

Police say that during the service of the search warrant, Louwegie Wade Cortez, a 34-year-old Santa Rosa resident, was detained leaving the residence in a vehicle. Donald Henry Gonzalez Jr., a 34-year-old Sebastopol resident, was detained attempting to flee the residence when detectives and officers arrived. Ryan Michael Perrine, a 19-year-old Santa Rosa resident, and David Nathan Nevarez, a 37-year-old Clearlake resident, were detained as they returned to the residence.

Louwegie Wade Cortez was arrested and later booked into the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility on four charges: PC 29800(a)(1) – Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm, PC 30605(a) – Possession of an Assault Rifle, PC 30305(a) – Prohibited Person Possessing Ammunition, and HS 11351 – Possession of Narcotics for Sale.

Ryan Michael Perrine and David Nathan Nevarez were both arrested and later booked into the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility on felony charge PC 30605(a) – Possession of an Assault Rifle.

Donald Henry Gonzalez Jr. was arrested and later booked into the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility. Gonzalez was booked for an outstanding misdemeanor arrest warrant.

Detectives say they'll continue to follow-up on the investigation and work with the Santa Rosa Police Department’s Identification Bureau and the Department of Justice to determine if the firearms were stolen or were used in other crimes.
