Duo Arrested In Forestville Burglary Suspected Of Other Break-Ins

Sheriff's detectives found firearms, tools, jewelry and other items allegedly stolen in a least three Sonoma County residential break-ins.

FORESTVILLE, CA β€” The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office arrested two Lake County residents Friday on suspicion of burglarizing a Forestville home. Ryan Allen Messing, 33, of Clearlake, and Tabytha Dawn Jarvis, 27, of Lake County, are suspected of burgling the home in the 2900 block of River Road on Friday.

A female resident of the home saw a light-colored small SUV in her driveway when she arrived home. The driver in the driveway asked whether "Gina" lived there before she drove away, the sheriff's office said.

The homeowner saw a broken window on her front door and heard someone rummaging in the garage. The woman called the sheriff's office around 4:15 p.m., and Messing allegedly ran into a nearby vineyard. He was arrested on suspicion of burglary and resisting arrest after a foot pursuit and struggle, the sheriff's office said.

Sheriff's detectives who were called to the scene identified Messing's girlfriend as Jarvis, and the homeowner identified Jarvis from photographs.

Detectives tracked Jarvis to a residence in the 1500 block of North Street in Santa Rosa and found a newer, silver Nissan Rogue in the driveway. The car was reported stolen out of Arbuckle during a residential burglary, the sheriff's office said.

Detectives arrested Jarvis and found stolen firearms, tools, jewelry and other items taken during at least three Sonoma County residential burglaries during a search of the North Street home, the car and a shed, the sheriff's office said.

Messing and Jarvis were booked in the Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of burglary, possession of stolen property, theft of firearms, possession of a stolen vehicle and conspiracy. Messing is being held under no bail for a violation of his Post Release Community Supervision in Lake County, and Jarvis is being held under $500,000 bail. They are scheduled to be arraigned in Sonoma County Superior Court on Tuesday afternoon.

Sheriff's detectives also are investigating whether the two suspects were involved in at least two other burglaries in Lake County.
