SANTA ROSA, CA β A mobile home was completely destroyed in a fire early Friday in south Santa Rosa but firefighters spared neighboring homes.
The fire on Squire Lane in the Carriage Court Mobile Home Park, just east of U.S. Highway 101 off Kawana Springs Road, was reported at 5:11 a.m. by several callers.

Firefighters deployed hoses and protected the threatened buildings while attacking the fire in the main structure.
Crews entered and searched the exposed buildings to check for residents but everyone had already evacuated.
As crews entered the main home to search, they were hindered by a large volume of burning furniture and other items which slowed their progress, Dahl said. When they determined no one was home, crews stayed inside and continued working to put out the fire.

The blaze was brought under control in 30 minutes although firefighters stayed at the scene for several hours, putting out small fires burning within the debris inside the home, Dahl said.
Damage was estimated at $150,000. The mobile home was completely destroyed and a car parked next door was a complete loss. There was also heat damage to one of the adjacent mobile homes.
A total of 23 fire personnel responded, including five engines, one ladder truck, one chief officer, two fire investigators and one support unit. Sonoma County Fire District, PG&E and the Santa Rosa Police Department were also on scene.
No injuries to residents or firefighters were reported.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
