In an effort to gauge the public's response, Cotati-Rohnert Park Unified is hosting a public forum Tuesday, Feb. 28 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. to study whether or not to re-open La Fiesta Elementary — a move widely supported by board trustees.
The elementary school was closed in 2008 because of school cutbacks, unprecedented declining enrollment and growing budget deficits. District officials are inviting concerned and interested parents and members of the communtiy to attend and give feedback. Childcare will be provided on-site.
Superintendent Robert Haley and the board are moving swiftly in the decisions on districtwide reconfiguration, becasue if the proposal moves forward, they'll want to start enrolling kindergarteners now. What do you think?
