Come out to Cross and Crown this Saturday for a harvest celebration! Local residents and volunteers will be transforming the soccer field at the church into a community garden.
The garden will be used as a teaching tool by the church's school, and will grow fresh produce for the needy — the idea is to grow food for dozens of families.
Saturday's event features pumpkins for kids to paint and take home, a relay race, a "seeds of hope" planting for harvest, where kids will plant a variety of peas, favas, spinach, radish, garlic, broccoliand lettuce, plus more activities.
