Fatal Accident Shuts Down Rural West County Road

The fatal accident that shut down Millbrae Avenue between Primrose Avenue and Stony Point Road is now open, after earlier collision in unincorporated Sonoma County near Rohnert Park was closed because of a fatal accident this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The roadway was re-opened around 1:30 p.m., according to authorities and the scene is now clear.

The accident was reported on Millbrae Avenue between Stony Point Road and Primrose Avenue around 10:40 a.m.

Preliminary information indicated that the death may have occurred when wood went through the windshield of a vehicle and struck the driver in the face, according to the CHP.

The Sonoma County coroner's office was called at 11 a.m.
