Fireplace Catches Fire In Rohnert Park Home

The early-morning fire caused an estimated $450,000 in damage to the home, displacing the residents.

ROHNERT PARK, CA β€” A fire that started in a fireplace displaced the residents of a home in Rohnert Park this morning, the Department of Public Safety said. The fire at 6657 Jubilee Ct. was reported around 3:20 a.m. Wednesday and all occupants of the home had evacuated before firefighters arrived.

The flames escaped a firebox in the fireplace and traveled through an empty space between the interior walls and the exterior paneling to the upstairs bedrooms. The roof collapsed above the living room and kitchen area of the residence, the Department of Public Safety said.

Flames coming from the second-floor bedroom windows above the garage rose 30 feet above the residence.
