Gang Members Armed With Machetes Arrested In Park Fight: Sheriff
A witness reported seeing two people with machetes following a group of people around a Sonoma County park.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Two suspected gang members were arrested in a recent fight at a Sonoma County park, the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office said.
A witness called the sheriff's office shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, to report the fight just west of U.S. Highway 101 at Andy's Park, 3399 Moorland Ave. in Bellevue, sheriff's Sgt. Juan Valencia said.
"The suspects, armed with machetes, were chasing a group of people," Valencia said.

Before deputies got to the park, the suspects drove off in a blue Honda but the car was promptly found on Moorland Avenue, the sergeant said. It is alleged that when deputies stopped and searched the car, they found two machetes along with red gang paraphernalia.
Deputies determined Rueben Cabrera, 19, of Santa Rosa, and his 17-year-old passenger were involved in the incident and both were charged on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy, Valencia said.

The 17-year-old received a citation and was released to a family member.

Records showed Cabrera was no longer in custody as of Monday.
